Concrete Foundations & Footings
Structural foundation work that supports your building for decades to come.

Your Building Starts Here
Your foundation is literally what everything else rests on. Whether you're building a new home addition, garage, shop, or commercial structure, the foundation determines the long-term stability and safety of the entire building. This isn't work you want to cut corners on.
At KeenCraft Corona Concrete, we've been installing concrete foundations in Corona since 2024. We understand local soil conditions, building code requirements, and the engineering principles that ensure your foundation performs properly for the life of the structure. Foundation work requires precision and expertise that comes only from experience.
Foundation Types We Install
Continuous Strip Footings
These are the most common foundation for residential structures in Corona. We excavate trenches along the perimeter of the building, install rebar reinforcement, and pour concrete to create a continuous beam that supports the exterior walls. The footing spreads the building's weight over a larger area to prevent settling.
Slab-on-Grade Foundations
Popular for garages and single-story buildings, this combines the foundation and floor into one integrated system. We excavate, prepare the base, install perimeter footings with rebar, then pour both the footings and slab together. It's cost-effective and works well in Corona's relatively stable soil conditions.
Pier and Beam Foundations
For areas with challenging soil or sloped lots, pier foundations provide excellent stability. We drill or dig holes at strategic points, install concrete piers deep enough to reach stable soil, and cap them with grade beams. This elevates the structure above potential ground moisture and works well where traditional footings might settle.
What Makes Foundation Work Critical
Foundation failures cause some of the most expensive and disruptive building problems. Here's what we focus on to prevent issues:
- •Soil analysis: We assess your soil type and condition. Corona has areas with expansive clay that swells when wet and shrinks when dry. These soils require special foundation design considerations.
- •Proper depth: Footings must extend below the frost line (not a major issue in Corona) and reach stable, undisturbed soil. Shallow footings can settle or shift.
- •Adequate width and reinforcement: Footings must be wide enough to distribute loads without exceeding soil bearing capacity. Proper rebar placement provides tensile strength that unreinforced concrete lacks.
- •Drainage considerations: Water is foundation enemy number one. We ensure proper grading and often recommend drainage systems to keep water away from foundations.
Foundation work also connects with other services we provide. A solid foundation might support walls that need concrete masonry, or extend into flatwork slabs for garage floors or living spaces.
Code Compliance and Inspections
Foundation work in Corona requires building permits and inspections. This isn't red tape, it's an important safeguard that ensures your foundation meets minimum safety standards. The inspector will check that your excavation is adequate, reinforcement is correctly placed, and forms are properly set before we pour.
We handle the permit process and coordinate with building inspectors. Our experience means we know what inspectors look for and do it right the first time. This prevents delays and ensures your project stays on schedule.
Building codes specify minimum requirements for footing width, depth, and reinforcement based on soil conditions and building loads. We design foundations that meet or exceed these requirements, incorporating engineering principles that ensure long-term performance.
